Design, Modeling, Implementation and Experimental Analysis of 6R Robot (TECHNICAL NOTE)

Design, modeling, manufacturing and experimental analysis of a six degree freedom robot, suitable for industrial applications, has been described in this paper. The robot was designed on the assumption that, each joint has an independent DC motor actuator, with gear reduction and measuring sensor for angular joint position. Mechanical design of the robot was done using Mechanical Desktop and ma...

Statistical Methods for Proteomic Biomarker Discovery based on Feature Extraction or Functional Modeling Approaches.

In recent years, developments in molecular biotechnology have led to the increased promise of detecting and validating biomarkers, or molecular markers that relate to various biological or medical outcomes. Proteomics, the direct study of proteins in biological samples, plays an important role in the biomarker discovery process. These technologies produce complex, high dimensional functional an...

Statistical Regularization and Qualitative Constraints

Comprehensive characterization of a proteome defines a fundamental goal in proteomics. In order to maximize proteome coverage for a complex protein mixture, i.e. to identify as many proteins as possible, various different fractionation experiments are typically performed and the individual fractions are subjected to mass spectrometric analysis. The resulting data are integrated into large and h...

Computational Models Reduce Complexity and Accelerate Insight Into Cardiac Signaling Networks Alternans and Arrhythmias: From Cells to the Heart Whole Heart Modeling: Applications to Cardiac Electrophysiology and Electromechanics

Cardiac signaling networks exhibit considerable complexity in size and connectivity. The intrinsic complexity of these networks complicates the interpretation of experimental findings. This motivates new methods for investigating the mechanisms regulating cardiac signaling networks and the consequences these networks have on cardiac physiology and disease. Next-generation experimental technique...

Organelle proteomics experimental designs and analysis.

In biology, localisation is function: knowledge of the localisation of proteins is of paramount importance to assess and study their function. This supports the need for reliable protein sub-cellular localisation assignment. Concomitant with recent technological advances in organelle proteomics, there is a requirement for more rigorous experimental and analysis design planning and description. ...
